What it is

Camlog's catalogue describes CAMLOG SCREW-LINE implants as slightly conical, self-tapping screw implants, noting they can be placed with a screw-mounted insertion post and can be positioned near the maxillary sinus. The body geometry mirrors the CONELOG SCREW-LINE; what differs is the connection at the top.

The identification point

CAMLOG or CONELOG?

Camlog's two titanium platforms share body designs and naming conventions, which makes them easy to confuse. They do not share components. If you have a Camlog implant and need restorative work, establishing which platform you have is the first step, and if your records say only “Camlog SCREW-LINE” without specifying the connection, that is not enough.

Camlog is far more common in Europe than in Canada, so if your implant was placed abroad, tracking down the original documentation is worth the effort before you need it.

A note on Camlog's ownership

Since 2016 Camlog has operated alongside BioHorizons under Henry Schein's Global Oral Reconstruction Group. For component availability this is reassuring, Henry Schein is one of the largest dental distributors in the world.
