Why parallel-walled still exists

Tapered implants dominate marketing because they solve the hardest cases. But a parallel-sided implant has real advantages where conditions allow it. It maintains its diameter down its full length, so it engages bone evenly rather than concentrating force at the tip. It is more forgiving of slight misjudgements in drilling depth. And in dense bone, an aggressive tapered implant can generate excessive pressure as it is driven in, which is its own risk to the surrounding bone.

Choosing parallel-walled for a healed site with good bone is a considered decision, not a downgrade.

The breadth of the range

Nobel lists 51 NobelParallel CC variants in Canada, split across TiUltra and TiUnite surfaces. That breadth is genuinely useful, it means the diameter and length can be matched closely to your bone rather than approximated. It also means the specific reference number identifying your implant matters, because there are a great many of them.

Record your connection type

Nobel runs four incompatible connection families, external hex, tri-channel, conical and trioval conical. Components do not cross between them. Whatever you receive, get the connection type, platform and reference number written down; it determines which parts can ever be fitted to your implant. The brand page has a diagram of all four.
